I remember Jeff on day one of architectural school at the Northern Poly. He had a complete set of Rapidograph drawing pens. He put them to very good use producing fine work. When we did group work Jeff was one of the leaders. He was a fine talented Architect and an excellent model maker. I remember a project while we were students when we came up with a design for an "A" frame building. Jeff produced a superb cast edge beam/gutter to incorporate into the model to accompany the design. It has been an absolute pleasure to have studied architecture with him and known Jeff as a friend. Thinking of you all this morning Savills... Jeff was an inspiration in how he didn't just cope but positively lived with his illness and the limitations it brought, ably assisted with obvious love and care from those closest to him. When we lived in Braxted there was a few ways home but there was only one way home that mattered to Dad. We called it the ‘Jeff Saville’ way home. It was a drive by of Jackie and Jeffs at the time in Wickham Bishops to see if you were home, sometimes stopping for a true ‘pop in’ before the days of mobiles and always met with smiles (prob a G & T for mum - although I was too young to notice) and a coffee or tea. Dad so often drove the Jeff way home and he always looked if you were in. You were always so welcoming and always so friendly. Jeff will always hold a special place in all our hearts. Ever the lovely family friend and coming to us all in our true hour of need and continuing to support us. Having a friendly face and one so warm as Jeff’s will stay in my heart forever. He was true gentlemen, truly kind, truly happy and truly jovial. A life long friend to mum and dad (the two of you). look out for dad today cause although dad was black and white and didn’t believe in spirutual...I do and I know somehow he will have a presence with you all today. Be it a robin or a butterfly, he’ll be there helping you say your goodbyes to his friend. They are together chuckling somewhere up there. Lots of love xxx

Jeff, my old chum, good friend and brother in law. We’ve had many memorable times spanning over 60years, hiking with the scouts in Germany, playing rugby, skiing, sailing and walking in the Lake District. Also many fun holidays together with our families. We admire your strength and determination, always smiling throughout your illness. You will be sorely missed by us all. To a Great Battler who quietly accepted it all and got on with life. Never seemed to lose his sense of humour or poker faced excitant nature to make people smile and laugh. A pity we weren't in a position to spend more time with Jeff over the years. Enjoyed his company, spirit, humour and laughs when we did though. Happy memories. Rest in Peace cousin in law.
